Project Result: Training course for mentoring Coordinators

The Training course for mentoring Coordinators will be created to provide professionals undertaking the role of the mentoring coordinator the knowledge, skills and competences needed for the effective organization, implementation and evaluation of any mentoring process taking place in a prison context for prison staff. 

Objectives:

  • to involve criminal justice system stakeholders in the transnational training event, bringing awareness to M4Pris, especially to peer mentoring schemes;
  • to develop a Coordinator profile in terms of competences, attitudes and knowledge to inform the training curricula and participants selection;
  • to identify the specific features for a mentor Coordinator for Prison Staff
  • to develop, pilot, and finetune a training course for prison personnel responsible for the development of staff competence level

Activities:

  • Definition and development of the training course curricula and methodology according with the Project´s Blueprint
  • Recruitment of 2 prison personnel responsible for the development of staff competence level in each partner country
  • Pilot implementation of the training course for mentoring coordinators in Portugal, Romania, Denmark, and Greece with 8 prison personnel in total.
  • Organisation of a three-day transnational training event in Portugal, involving partners staff and national criminal justice agencies representatives, Prison administrations, Prison Unions, NGOs, and other CJS stakeholders, presenting the pilot national experiences, and M4Pris results.
