M4Pris with key stakeholders – National Awareness Raising Event in Romania

CONNECTING WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS – NATIONAL AWARENESS RAISING EVENT IN ROMANIA

On May 15th 2025, our project partner SNPP (National Trade Union of Prison Police Officers) organized an awareness-raising event in Bucharest to showcase the M4Pris project and its outcomes. The event successfully brought the project’s objectives and progress to a key audience within the Romanian penitentiary system.

The event saw significant participation, with 40 prison officers attending, representing each penitentiary in Romania. This followed a previous meeting where a concise presentation about the M4Pris project was delivered to all prison governors and the top management of the prison service, ensuring wide-reaching awareness among key stakeholders.

The core focus of this event was to provide a comprehensive overview of the M4Pris project, including the research conducted, the developed training sessions, and the ongoing mentoring process. This mentoring component is currently being tested in 12 prison units across Romania.

Participants at the event recognized the significant role of mentoring, particularly given the increasing number of new prison officers across all work areas. There was a positive reception to the availability of training materials through the project’s website and dedicated training platform.

The M4Pris initiative has garnered considerable attention from the top management of the Romanian prison service. Indicative of its perceived value, mentoring has been incorporated as a distinct training subject in the 2025 Yearly Training Plan for the Romanian prison service.
